Research Interests

Research is focused on development, elucidation and control of heterogeneous reactions and interfacial chemistry. The outcomes are considered to contribute to solving current energy & environmental issues.

In particular, the cores of research are mainly to develop fields for highly efficient, heterogeneous reactions on the basis of materials science, and to elucidate and control chemical reactions relating to energy production such as power generation.

Definite themes studied are the novel synthetic procedure of a thin layer of microporous materials including zeolites and its application to advanced materials and membrane reactors, catalysis of zeolites, catalytic partial oxidation of hydrocarbons, clean up of flue gas from gasifier/combustor of coal and wastes, ash behavior and its control, and preparation of clean coal.
