経歴

1975年東京工業大学工学部化学科卒, 1980年同大学院修了(工学博士). 1980年東京工業大学工学部助手, 1985年早稲田大学専任講師, 1987年同学助教授, 1992年同学教授. 1993年12月-1994年9月英国オックスフォード大学客員研究員, 1986年日本化学会進歩賞.

研究内容

生命現象の分子レベルでの解明を目的としステロイドホルモンや抗腫瘍活性，酵素阻害機能などの生物活性を有する機能分子の設計および合成を行なっている．また，ルテニウム，パラジウム，モリブテン錯体などの触媒作用に注目し，医薬農薬香料などのファインケミカルズの合成から有機金属化学の基礎反応の解明に至るまで有機合成化学に関連する幅広い分野を研究の対象にしている．
